We spent the weekend with Uncle Clay and Aunt Milena at their place in Tahoe. We all had a great time and we're starting to get better and better at traveling as a family. Meaning - only a few breakdowns and Mommy returns home only a little more tired than usual.
Gryffin was thrilled to take his tractor outside and dig up snow while Zailey was perfectly happy to try on new shoes. Have I mentioned that her second word was "shoes"? Yes - we're in big trouble when she hits the teenage years.
No, really she was much happier inside than outside. She loved sledding but it was quite cold and each time she asked to go inside well before Gryffin. We did our best to bundle them up.
Gryffin took a little while to warm up to the whole idea, but after a few slow "warm up runs" he was flying down the hill. About 20 feet from the end, all he could say was "Again, Again, Again!" This was great, except one small thing. "Again, Again, Again," meant mommy and daddy had to pull him all the way back up the hill. Turns out we're out of shape and completely accustomed to high oxygen levels found at sea level! Good thing we had Aunt Milena - snowboarder extraordinaire!
In an effort to try an indoor activity, we went to Northstar to visit a make-your-own stuffed animal shop. Of course, toddlers aren't subject to the laws of practical logic! Gryffin discovered he could pull a cart just like the "big boys." He insisted on pulling it all by himself without a hat or gloves, which only lead to a major breakdown because he got REALLY cold. Lesson Learned - gloves and hats in Tahoe are not optional! But, Zailey took full advantage of Gryffin's new found obsession. She rode like a queen all around Northstar's village!
