Gryffin really seems to like to wear things that belong to other people. He steals Zailey's shoes on a regular basis. So, now she wears his. Fair trade, if you ask me. But, he also likes to steal my stuff. Here he is wearing a new hat of mine. And, it may look better on him. :)
So, daycare was closed for 2 days for professional development last week. Jesse had a great idea to visit the beach. It was actually a pretty nice day once the fog started to burn off. The kids had a great time building (and smashing) sandcastles and especially finding feathers on the beach to make "flags" for their castles.
Zailey was so excited to go to the beach to play in the waves. She picked out which swimsuit she would bring and talked about it the whole way there. The only problem (which I didn't mention) was that the last time she went to the beach - the waves scared her. I was hoping this time would be different. ...Nope... In fact the day played out almost exactly like the book
Ladybug Girl At The Beach. First she complained about how load the waves were, then she put her toes in and then she had a blast running from the incoming waves with Daddy. But nothing more than her knees got wet.
Jesse and the kids also had a great time digging a really big hole in the sand.
Once the hole was finished, Zailey decided it was really just an opportunity to practice more gymnastics. Here she is "diving" into the hole (spot the feet!?!?!).
Jesse tried to get the kids to bury him in the hole. But all he managed to do was get sand poured directly on his head. Buried - no, dirty - VERY! We are Team Dirty after all.
And of course the Northern California coast is not all that warm. So, by the end of the day the kids decided the best way to get warm was to wear our stuff. Again - there goes Gryffin stealing other people's clothes!
