The twins are 4 YEARS OLD!!!! How crazy is that?! They had an absolute blast at their birthday party. As per the request made last year, we got another bouncy house. Bouncy house rentals are actually really easy and a huge hit with the kids. So, this year we got a pirate ship bouncy house to go with the "Jake and the Neverland Pirates" birthday theme. And just like last year as the bouncy house was being taken away, Zailey turns to me and says, "Mommy for my 5th birthday party I want another bouncy house, OKAAAAYYYYY." It seems we have a trend.
It took us nearly 10 days to open all their birthday presents (1 -3 per day) because there were 21 children at their party!!! Include at least 1 parent and you have a HUGE party. Good thing we like to throw BBQs!!! Here is Gryffin holding one of his favorite gifts. Imagine legos with led lights inside them. He loves it.
I had planned on having birthday cakes but there was a slight mix up with our order, so cupcakes it is! And do 4 year olds really care whether it is cake or cupcakes? Nope. The only problem was that the candles were a little spread out, so Gryffin had a hard time blowing them out. One of his friends helped him, which of course turned Gryffin into a blubbering mess. Not even the thought of sweet, sweet cupcakes could make him smile. So, mommy had to relight the last candle so Gryffin could blow it out on his own.
Zailey on the other had was completely happy to have Molly help her blow, that way she could get to her chocolate cupcake even faster.
And just like every other birthday post, we have to have the obligatory icing on the face shot!!!
The funniest part about the kids turning 4 is how often Zailey and Gryffin remind us that they are four and that means they are not afraid of scary cartoons, or that they can put their seat belts on without help, or open doors without help, etc. Honestly, its mostly Zailey who likes to remind us of her independent status. Again, I'm sensing a trend!!!
